Tourism + Experiences.

Designing meaningful experiences after dark. Night-time experiences can change how people see a place.

They can extend length of stay, create new reasons to visit, and support local economies – while encouraging a more considered relationship with the environment.

Every place has its own relationship with the night. Regional, remote, urban – each with its own character. Some are defined by dark skies, others by coastline, culture, or season. The role of experience design is to work with what’s already there – drawing out what makes a place unique and turning that into something people can connect with.

This might take the form of guided experiences, small-scale programs, or broader destination offers that extend beyond daylight hours. Sometimes it’s about creating something new. Other times it’s about refining what already exists – shifting focus or strengthening the connection between people and place. Done well, they don’t compete with the day. They complement it.

Designing resilient dark sky tourism experiences

Working with destinations and tourism operators to deliver sustainable, high-quality night-time tourism grounded in long-term dark sky protection.

The goal is not simply to attract visitors, but to build resilient tourism models that value natural darkness as a core asset. This work spans experience design, visitor flow and night-time management, responsible lighting strategies, community engagement and industry training. Together, we build capability and confidence – helping places establish lasting leadership in dark sky tourism while protecting the integrity of the night sky for future generations.
